Slacking Off

So I was really stressed and decided to take a quick break by browsing the net... and here I am!

I can't believe the posts we used to write back then. Want to dig a hole and crawl in it right now.

Anyway should anyone chance upon this while reminiscing our crazy days like I did, Happy Chinese New Year!

CLASS OUTING

Hello we need a class outing soon or rather i need a class outing because i haven't seen anyone in ages.

I was thinking we could go to universal studios OR if there are budget constraints a meal would suffice just as well. But more importantly could people post when they are free/coming back to Singapore. I know the UK people just came back but will there be a longer break?

And since August is coming soon, should we start deciding on class chalet? Knowing us, by the time we decide it will be August.

Miss you guys lots
Jo Lynn

WASSUP HOMIE.

I update la.

I still read the class blog, hoping someone would update it with something interesting.
Doesn't matter if content is about NS or NUS or NTU or like old days.
Just something would do.

Sad post.

Outside Central Library

See anyone familiar? (:

P.S. I hope I haven't offended anyone with my constant spam. Should I stop?

Monday, January 25, 2010

We were 16.

Hello (: As I was happily staying true to my email address, my sister exclaimed, "Your friend's in my textbook!"

Noted in Thinking Schools, Learning Nations: Contemporary Issues and Challenges for posterity. On a relevant side note, congratulations to Mel for escaping from the dreadful world of accountancy and for choosing to study law and the arts! Sadly, she'll be leaving us to go frolicking in the meadows with a gazillion sheep and a possible pet cow. You are hereby invited to send her off in the evening on the third day of Chinese New Year. Mel, we'll miss you loads! (:

Chalet

Was looking through the chalet pictures and I thought this was the best ever.
From far, it looks like something from the sewage. But it was semi-edible.
Hmmm. A-M-A-Z-I-NG

gotta get get

Alright 04 loves!

This will be the rough plan of what's going to happen during the chalet (:

8th Jan:

2pm: Check In. Our chalet unit number is B5!

-Buy chips and food for bbq and steamboat
-Possibly clubbing on friday evening

7pm: Steamboat! (who else has induction cooker?)
9th Jan:

Morning: colin suggests cycling to changi airport to send mer off :D crazy but interesting idea!

BBQ at 5plus! We will be inviting the teachers to come down at about 7!

The rest of the time can be filled in with mahjong, card games, dvds, canoeing, cycling, guitar hero (except that jo and mer, the only 2 in our class with the game, can't make it so if anyone knows anyone who has guitar hero and is willing to lend us +has the ability to transport it to chalet, pls tell me ;D )

10th Jan:

Before 11am: Check Out

Feel free to invite any other ip mates anytime you like (:

Directions to get to HomeTeamNS Pasir Ris:

Take 403 loop service from Pasir Ris Interchange, about 10 stops from the interchange! (it's the end of the loop so don't miss it or you're screwed!)

Cost:
Chalet: 214 + 47 = $261 (assuming no one backs out from now, about $14.50 per person)
BBQ + Steamboat food + Misc snacks: about $10 to $15 (:

Very extremely excited to see y'all on the 8th! toodalooo m************!!

"I have dead eye cells."

Hello (: Merry Christmas to everyone once again! Thank you, Tis, for organizing and hosting the class Christmas party this year. Was great seeing almost everyone again (: I had blogged the loveliest of posts (ha) about the Christmas party which included a particular not-unglam picture of Tis but, sadly, it was devoured by blogger and I'm too depressed (read:lazy) to do that post all over again. So, here you go! (:

The picture that we took with Lou's polaroid camera! Here's an alternative scan. Alright, school's starting again soon so we'll have to make the most of the remaining one and the half week! Amidst all the partying, drawing up of resolutions, reflecting on these twelve months, cleaning and disposing, cooking of feasts and whatnot that you guys are doing now, here's to you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope that the upcoming year will be a great and satisfying one for all! Please remember to take care of yourselves and your family along the way. I should stop now before I start bringing in the recession, flus, environmental issues and deaths, heh. See you guys at the chalet soon! Can't wait! (:

EMAIL FROM MR TEO!

Hello 05IP04 Thu, December 24, 2009 8:28:59 PM
From: Tze Wei Teo <*********@moe.edu.sg>
To: ******@hotmail.com; ******@hotmail.com; ******@hotmail.com; ********@yahoo.com

Colin, Weiliang, Tisiana and Mel,

Hello there... been wanting to write to the whole class... so can you help me forward this email to everyone? You wanna put this in None other than purple also can.

Just want to know how's everyone doing. It's has been 1 year since all of you left me. haha.... sounds gross... but I would like to thank all of you for calling upon me whenever you come back to NJC. Sorry I am always that busy in school, but I am lah.
SOmething very interesting though... very few IP04 pple come back this year, but a lot of 02, 03 and 05 keep coming i think...

I still recall the people who said hi to me whenever they go back : all members of BCME, Mel , Jo , Ying Ting and Kien (for a reason haha. But have you got what you needed?)... esp Gladys who came back to talk to me on Teachers' Day and dropped me an SMS before she goes Briston. Jo as well: very happy that she has grown up...till now i still remember that dance step you and your friends made... hahahaha

I think I also saw Yi Hoong (or is that Yilin?) and Clare outside the library this year? Jolynn smsed me twice when was YEC a few weeks back? Zhirong called me recently and I dunno what he is talking about ... !@#$%^&?:"}{^%$#(**()_+` as always.... all my training in his Fluency and Clarity went down the drain.

haven't heard much from the rest ,esp Weiliang , Colin, Joel, Tuonan, Shaodan, Sam, Jade, Celle, Colin and Lou...and what is Johnson doing? studying or freelancing? Is Clare's leg better? Is Tuonan married? Has Colin grown up? has parting in his hair oredi?

Celle : you still owe me sayo lodeh (curry veg)... I was really really hoping to see a miracle on Teachers' Day this year but dun have :((((

To Kien : Mrs Cheng still remembers you :).

Oh yeah. As most of you know by now that I asked for your permission to let my 07IP PW class to read your GPF, WR and even your slides. They were all very amazed by the quality of your work you had put in and they got the inspiration to do the kind of quality of OP slides that I demand. After handling two batches of PW, I think your class is easier to handle because all of you were very motivated and perservarant to do well. I still remembered Clare cried when she was very desparate to select the correct Groundbreaker. Kien, Jade and PZR practiced and practiced with me in their OP exam at the pond. Meichai and the groups' "Ah...." (seductive) and the skid made where Weiliang gotten some STD... and the whole group was very stressed in submitting their WR after comments by Ms Champagne... Gladys was really very stressed and Mer was very desperate!! the big yellow t-shirt made by the Speech Balloon Group and how they contacted the esplanade, Tuonan's 'act cool' look for commercial break andhe 'fake fake' game played around Singapore... and Coco Chanel's group : acts of class and how I was impressed with Yihoong's 1st draft of her EoM. those were the memories then.

Yeap. Just wanna say hello to all of you on 24th Dec... probably all of you are having some party countdown now but I still like quite Christmas eves. Hope to see more of you come back to NJC and hello me. Anyway I lost my handphone a few months ago so if you sms, do let me know who you are ok. Till then, have a good Xmas and happy 2010! :)

voting

HERE ARE THE VOTES (:

1:
colin (may not be able to make it), yingting (cant make it on 1 to 3 jan), jo lynn (cant make it on 1 to 3 jan), meltee, glad

2:
clar, sam (cant make it on 1 to 3 jan), yi hoong (may not be able to stayover)

3:
joel, jo (cant make it on 8 to 10 jan), lou, johnson, jade, nat, mer, weiliang, zhirong, tis

soo 3 it is!

zhirong has warned us that the facilities at pasir ris aren't fantastic, but the chalet is pretty decent (:

correction on how the booking works: weiliang will be able to book on the 1st of december for the chalet on any date of January, so by 1st december, he will be able to get back to us whether or not we get any of the dates for chalet.

xoxo!

oh yes, we're planning to have a christmas party at joel's place (he has kindly accepted the self-invitation to throw the party at his place :D ) will msg all of you soon! please make my life easy and reply, thank you (:

you should be dancing, yeah!

Hello 04 (:

please vote by 22nd november on the tagboard okay? either that or you can sms me. I will be collating the responses and putting them here after that (:

by the way, weiliang and i have decided that for those who are coming for the chalet, we will be splitting the cost evenly, regardless of how many nights you are staying, so as to avoid discrepancies, especially since most people would only come for the first night (as observed from the chalets in ip1 and ip2)

if anyone has some extremely violent-and-could-murder-someone-because-this-rule-is-too-ridiculous-for-you-to-handle objections, please voice it out! but do note that we feel this is the only way to be fair to everyone ultimately (:

for the guys who need to take leave, really sorry but currently, we are unable to confirm whether or not we can get 1st to 3rd jan, and if that fails, weiliang will be trying 8th to 10th jan (let's just hope that doesn't fail as well) and the earliest you will know about getting the chalet for the period of 1st to 3rd jan will be on 1st dec.

yes johnson, the worst case scenario is that we do not get the chalet, and we'll have to pay for the 47 bucks, but let's cross our fingers and hope that we get it! It shouldn't be a problem though, because weiliang says that nobody is allowed to book till 1 month before the date of check-in, so if we book it at 12.00.01 am on the 1st jan, we should be able to get it right?

WOOP!

Crazy Chalet Changes

Hi 04 (:

as you all know, i've booked Aloha Changi's Chalet, Fairy Pt Bungalow 3. However, weiliang has just discovered that he can have supremely great rates with HomeTeam NS. This will be an obviously better choice because:

1. rates are wayyy cheaper
2. more facilities (aloha changi has none)
3. may be able to get 1st to 3rd jan which many of you prefer because uni starts on 11th jan.

However, there is a cancellation fee for Aloha Changi, and it's 10% of 470.80 which will be 47 bucks. (considering they wanted to charge me 25% for cancellation fee that's much better already right? hahaha sorry trying to look at the bright side here)

okay before any of you kill me, let me explain why i got everyone into such a shitty mess. a few days ago, i checked every other chalet (nsrcc, aloha loyang, ntuc.etc) and they were all fully booked on both 1st to 3rd Jan as well as 8th to 10th Jan. Weiliang was helping to check the vacancies using his membership under police welfare for Costa Sands but somehow the system was screwed up and told him the earliest he could book was very late Jan. Also, he thought he could only book Costa Sands, and didn't realize that he was entitled to book the HomeTeam NS chalet as well till his colleague told him or sth. Because the chalets were taken up very fast (previously just a few days ago i was looking at Changi Chalet M but it was taken up the next time i tried to book it) , i rushed to book the fairy pt bungalow chalet to ensure that it wouldn't be taken up (and seriously, bungalows 2 and 3 were free the day before but when i went to book it, only bungalow 3 was left so i'm not crazy or anything okay? lol) so this is why we're in this mess now.

I really do apologize for the inconvenience and the unnecessary payment for the cancellation of Aloha Changi.

below are the rates for HomeTeam NS!

1.

$171 HomeTeam Bukit Batok
villa, 2 bedrooms.
bbq pit, full cooking facilities, laser quest, jackpot room, squash court, gym, bowling alley, badminton court, swimming pool, golf driving range, tennis court, karaoke (10 to 30 per hour open from 3pm to 1am)

2.

$107 HomeTeam Bukit Batok (no bedroom, attap house)

facilities are the same as above.
chalet is basically one common area, like a huge room. bbq pit and fridge included. 'sides that, it's totahlee empty. pictures below.

for the bukit batok ones i think there's only the common toilets which sucks. not sure about kitchen either.

3.

$214 HomeTeam Pasir Ris
semi-detached with 4 bedrooms each
bbq pit, bball court, bicycle kiosk, cafeteria, tennis court, NEW jackpot room (wl is excited), canoeing kiosk (i am excited)

4.

$470 Aloha Changi original
toilets/bathrooms with shower heater, BBQ pit and a fully equipped kitchen, didn't state no. of bedrooms but rather 1 queen-sized + 4 single-sized beds, 3 toilets
no facilities :/

looks huge though!

so anyway, i cancelled today so that the cancellation fee would be 10% instead of 25%, but here's the catch. Weiliang will only be able to book 1 month before the check-in date, so on the 1st of Dec, he will try to book for 1st Jan, and if not possible, 8th Dec for 8th Jan and hopefully he'll be able to book one of those dates but in the event that he doesn't, WE WILL HAVE NO CHALET. there, better to prepare everyone now than to break all your little hearts later. lol

okay so there are the 4 possibilities listed above, please type the number of the chalet that you wish to vote for on the tagboard! (seriously if everyone voted for 4 again i'd kill myself. but i doubt so yeah?)

therefore, the total amount of the chalet would be whatever the new fee for the new chalet is, plus 47 bucks.

thank you very extremely much and once again, sorry for all the trouble.

Love much,

Tis

PS: by the way, so sorry to hear that Uni life is cui with crazy projects and tests every 6 weeks or so :/ good luck to all the uni people! kick some ass in the next semester test!
